Uppsala here I come!

Hi guys!
Hope you are staying well! I on the other hand has a cold right now, not fun! But It's better today compared to a couple of days ago. So I'm happy that I'm at least are feeling better today as I'm traveling to Uppsala! I will stay there for 4-5 day and celebrate Valborg with Sara! It's going to be so much fun! The schedule for the weekend is packed with amazing event so can hardly wait!

I'm so happy that I get the chance to visit Uppsala and Sara one more time before I leave for Tokyo. I'm also meeting her new boyfriend and classmates so it's going to be exciting as well!

I tried to not bring so much stuff but even so I had to bring a pretty big suitcase with me! Well, clothing for 5 days and we are going out at least 2 nights so... That should be enough explanation of us girls!

I will try to do another blog post during my stay or at least on my way back to Gothenburg and tell you how it all went! Valborg celebrations in Uppsala is famous and crazy! I can't wait to experience it myself!

When I get back to Gothenburg it will be May, the month before I'm leaving for Tokyo! I know I say this in every blog post.. Sorry! Just that it's always on my mind!

Update on moving to Tokyo: I have now filled out my application to CSN so will have to wait 3-5 weeks for a reply and see if I get the student loan. If I filled out everything correctly there shouldn't be a problem at all. This is my first time taking out a loan so it feels strange.. But it's for something that is my dream so... Not so bad! I also got advice from Gogonihon on 2 websites I should look at for apartments/share houses. So doing that right now and trying to see how my budget will look like!

The first night in Tokyo I will stay at Joshua's place, he is so kind to let me stay there as I can't enter my accomedation the same night I arrive in Tokyo because I arrive so late at night 19.00ish at Narita airport. So will not be in Central Tokyo until around 21.00!

Another thing that is happening is that my brother is moving back home so he can save up money to buy his own place. Before he lived with a friend but he now feels like he need a place that is just his. I'm so happy that I will get to live with my brother for 2 months before I leave, and I think it will make my parents feels less alone if he is at home after I leave as well, so a good thing! I'm a bit jealousy though, the three of them is going to Koster (an island we always go do during summer break) together the same week I go to Japan, to bad I could join them one last time! But nothing can do!

That's all for now!
Hugs!

Should I start a Podcast?

Hi!
Actually the plan was to post another blog post today but somehow the app for the blog on my Ipad decided to not save my post so it all disappeared.. and it was quite a long one so I don't have the energy to rewrite the same one again, So a normal one has to do today! Sorry..

I have recently begun to listen to a lot of podcasts and I really like it! Feels like I'm learning new things and it's fun at the same time. So it got me thinking.. maybe I should do a podcast? I have always preferred talking... and I'm quite good at it so maybe it will be a good idea. What do you guys think? Would you like to listen to my podcast about me and my everyday life in japan? Should I do it? Let me know what you think! My plan was to call it "Jinsei podcast" and Jinsei means Life/lifestyle in japanese. or "Nihonnojinsei podcast" and that means Japanese lifestyle podcast. The second one is more correct but a bit to long I think... I was also thinking of doing episodes mostly in english but also some in Swedish that will be more for my family and friends! So that even if I can't skype all the time you guys can still get an regular update on what's going on in my life!

But how has my life been recently?

Worked as usual this week and now it's finally the weekend! Today I just stayed at home chilling with the family. Tomorrow I will play badminton with some friends again, going to be so much fun! If it doesn't rain, I will go to a Hanami on Sunday, looks like it's going to be a really nice weekend.

Tried a new hairstyle today at home from a new youtuber I discovered just the other day! What do you think? I think it's cute. Not sure if I will wear it outside here in Sweden though... just maybe!

Speaking of hair style, I have decied to go back to blond again! I will probably not color it until the beginning on June, but hope you guys is gonna like the blond Sophie back! I really like the more reddish hair color I have had for over a year now but I just miss the blond so much right now.. I'm actaully planning on trying a new hair salong in Gothenburg this time so hope it's going to turn out awesome! well, I have a little more than one month to think about it so!

Next Thursday I will make a long weekend trip to Uppsala to celebrate Valborg, It's going to be crazy fun and I'm finally getting to meet Sara again! Can't wait! Having something to look forward to sure makes the time go by fast! Can't belive April soon is over. Feels like it was just yesterday it was my birthday but nope!

Oh yeah maybe I haven't said it here yet but now I'm 23! My birthday was a really nice day! Making sushi for lunch with a friend and cake in the evening with my family! 23 really feels good for me, Probably because this is the year I'm going back to Tokyo. So 23 and moving to Tokyo is always going to beconnected somehow  for me I guess.

Now it's time to sleep for me!
hugs!

Why do you like Japan?

Hi guys!

Just some days ago I saw this quote on Facebook and it really hit home.

"When was the last time you did something for the first time?"

I often get the question, both from Japanese and Swedish people, why do you like Japan? In the beginning (many years ago) it was easy to just say because I like anime, manga and the culture. But as the years went by and I just continued to say the same answer, the more wrong and untrue it felt for me. Theses days it's more complex and I get stressed when I get that question. Not because I don't like it, it's just that I don't really know how to explain and answer it truthfully. It has been very hard to explain my feelings towards Japan now that I have had this interest for so many years and it just keeps on growing. This is where the quote above comes in to play. When I read this I thought "This is it, this is a big part of it".

When I went to Japan for the first time I discovered my passion for travel and above all, to challenge myself to do new things. When I do something for the first time there is a feeling of excitement and nervousness that I love. I'm more curious about things when I'm in Japan and it makes me discover new things about myself. That consequently makes me feel more alive and that Japan is like home. Japan is the place that "matches my heart" the most. That is how I feel about Japan and that is why I like it. Thanks to that quote I found a way to describe my feelings towards Japan. It's really an amazing thing, having passion for something.

I think this quote and question is really important to ask yourself once in a while. It makes you realize just how we like to surround ourselfs in a safe zone and then it's hard to learn new things about yourself and others around you. So, why don't you try to answer the qoute?

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

Hope this makes you think as it did to me!

Fika with friends!

Hi guys!

Today two great things "happened"!

The first thing is that I finally booked the plane ticket!! So, as long as everything goes as planed I'm leaving Sweden on the 27th of June! A little less than 3 months... Hard to believe! This time around it does feel different because I know I don't have any plans on returning to Sweden (only for visits of course) so I'm actually MOVING to Japan... A big thing when you think about it... Not sure if I really have realized it yet! Anyhow, The ticket this time is expensive! 7700kr... One reason is because it's a one-way ticket and also because it had to be a rebookable ticket in case something would happen with the visa application and so on!

The other thing is that I had a really nice day in Gothenburg with two friends Jonna and Amanda! We had Fika/coffee break at Jonnas home and meet her little baby girl, Ester, and she is so adorable! The three of us just couldn't stop looking at her all the time!

We also went for a nice walk in the amazing weather! Really felt like spring is here now! Later I had a lesson with my students and it all went well. That is all for this time!

Sci-fi convent

Hello!
Then it's April! Hard to believe that time goes by so fast!

Yesterday I had a great Sunday with my friend Jenny. We went by car to Gothenburg to go to a Sci-fi event! Basically it's an event there you can buy a lot of nerd stuff! Super fun, Jenny got an autograph from one of the actors from Lord of the rings! Even if we had to line up for quite some time is was worth it!

We also saw a cosplay competition, maybe not the best quality but they all had put a lot of effort in their costumes so it was fun to see!

After the event we ate dinner together, soooo tasty but talk about getting a big portion! Felt bad but I couldn't  finish it... It was impossible!

I also went with a different style that day for the fun of it! Why not try new things, can't hurt!

Last weekend I also went to Ramenya with my friends to celebrate my birthday in advance this year! Had a great time and we had a lot of girltalk. The owner of the restaurant know my name by now.. A bit embarrassing but fun at the same time! I'm actually going there again this Saturday with my family to celebrate my birthday! I wonder how the owner will react when I will come to eat there again... Haha!

That's all for this time!

Hugs!
