It sounds crazy when I say this but today is my first day without any plans, and I love it!! Of course it's fun to have a busy schedule and hang out with friends, but it's also very tiring! That's why I love that today I will just chill at home, do some laundrary, study, watch some dramas and maybe go grocery shopping if the rain goes away. It's funny how "boring" every day life stuff can feel this relaxing!
I'm also on a short 2 week summer break so why not start the holiday resting before filling it up with fun plans!
Actually I was at my first Japanese hanabi (firework festival) in 2 years and it was so beautiful! I really like the Japanese ones, they are so.. organized in a beautiful way. It's definitely like watching a "performance" and when you sit there in the warm night in a beautiful yukata surrounded with friends it's definitely an amazing feeling! One of the many things that makes me love Japan. For summer, hanabi, festivals and yukata is definitely the most typical symbols and traditions and it feels like every season in Japan has its own tradition and "event" to look forward to and enjoy. So now we are in the season of Hanabi and yukata so I will make the most of it! On Tuesday I will also go to another Hanabi with Yoshi, can't wait!
Talking about summer in Japan I would also say that mountain climbing or wandering is a typical thing to do. You can of course do it in other season as well but summer or autumn is the most common one. I hope to do that soon as well! We have a mountain called Takao pretty close to where I live so think we will be going there soon! Then we can't forget "beer garden" which basically is a temporary set up outside bar area where you usually pay for Nomihodai and Tabehodai (all you can drink and eat) and have a nice time eating and drinking in the hot summer evening! Mount Takao also have a beer garden so maybe combining the two would be a nice idea!
Right now my summer break is not to packed with things, just Hanabi, and the going out eating with friends at different "special theamed" restaurants! The two I plan on going to is a Ninja cafe and a Alice in wonderland restaurant! I'm sure it will be awesome! I also hope I can go to Ghibli museum and maybe a Ninja Museeum in Odaiba! There is also a summer camp that oak house (the company that ownes the share house I live in) will arrange that I might want to join! If possible a short one-night stay trip out side of Tokyo would be nice... But let's see how much money and time I have!
Recently I have been going to school and just studied! So much homework, it's not unsuall that I study until 1:00 here, somehow the environment here makes it not seem so weird.. Hard to explain! After school I have tried to find good places to Fika and study and also good food as well! I also went to the beach one week ago the day of the sea here! So much fun! First time going to the beach in Japan, the water was soo warm compared to Sweden, it was the best!
I also did my first translation work here in Japan! It was hard but a very funny experience! It was a Japanese friend that lives at the share house that had a co-worker that needed someone that could translate between them and their business clients from China and Macao... It felt way out of my league but they seemed really happy with my work and we exchanges contact information so maybe I get the chance to work with them again. But that evening felt like another world... They had so much money so I got to eat and drink at restaurant that I could never afford myself...The Japanese guy in charge that hired me to translate for the evening had sooo many connections. He also known so many Japanese celebrities and one of them that he is really really good friends with is an actor and singer that I have been a fan of for almost 5 years!! I totally died a little when he showed me pictures he had together with that actor and their conversation on LINE (Like FB chat)... I can't believe that I have met and exchanged line with a person that is best friend with one of my favorite actors.. I also got to meet a famous singer that night as she join us for drink is the evening. I didn't know who she was before I met her, but I was a cool experience anyway! That evening was definitely like a sneak peak into another world! But fun non the less! Let's hope I get a chance to meet and work with them again! I was invited to go drinking with the 2 Japanese guys together with my friend that lives at the dorm, so hope that happens!
So to end this post I will just show you guys some random picture from my everyday life!
