Finally starting to feel alive again after the exam I had this Wednesday. It was the hardest exam I have ever done and it DID NOT go great. I think the risk of me failing is very high. Sadly enough that also means that I may not get my degree this summer because the re-exam isn't until August, which sucks! But nothing I can do now so after one day of comfort eating and on day of party I feel like I can finally let it go. Just wait for the results and then take it from there.
Also on the 30th of April was a holiday called "Valborg" here in Sweden. Today it's a spring festival butbasically it's a day when young people get drunk and usually go to watch a big campfire! It's also common to go and watch "Chalmers Cortégen" which is a kind of parade held by all the students at Chalmers University. It's a fun event but this year I didn't go. But I did however meet up with some friends and went to a party at a dorm. Super nice evening!
Traditionally Valborg comes from Germany but was later adopted into Swedish culture. It has it roots as a spring festival in the nordic folk tales know as "Asatron" as in believing in the gods Thor, Oden and so on. But the high Christian society at that time saw the "new" tradition as "devil work" and it was branded as a traditions for "witches and evil spirits ". Therefor to keep the witches away they begun to light big campfires on high hills, which lead to the campfires we still have today on Valborg! So, in Sweden the tradition of "Valborg" became associated with the tales of witches and a like!
Well, back to now! Besides from Valborg celebrations I did go to a Hanami (japanese teamed flower viewing) at Botaniska trärdgården which is a big public garden that you can go to. They Had a Japanese hanami event and I saw it as the chance to wear my yukata (was pretty cold though!) and have a nice time with my friends and family!
As for today, me and my family went to look at the new apartment my grandmother and grandfather are moving in to, I LOVED it! Sooooo want to move into my own apartment when I saw theirs... JEALOUS!
As a consolation prize I bought myself these super cute small bowls, aren't they lovely?!
Only problem is we don't have enough room for them in the kitchen... I have to much of my own stuff by now as my mom seems to agree with when saying "Well, the only thing you need now is the apartment, why don't you go for that one next" and she totally have a good point of couse. If only I had the money!
Let's end it here for now!
Hugs!
